  • The Migrateful Cookery School and our popup venues are pivotal to our operations, providing essential spaces for our chefs to deliver their classes and for our guests to enjoy the Cookery Class experience.
  • We are seeking a hands on, proactive individual with previous experience in a similar role to take ownership of the upkeep of the Migrateful Cookery School.
  • At the heart of this role is ensuring that Health and Safety standards are exceeded in every aspect of the Cookery School and being responsible for educating users on industry standards.
  • You will implement clear processes so that Chefs, Staff, Volunteers and guests can seamlessly navigate the space. As our classes take place after 6pm you will also be expected to (telephonically) deal with any queries related to the use of the Cookery School.

Essential

  • 4+ years previous experience in a similar role, particularly in a kitchen or foodrelated environment.
  • Relevant and uptodate Food Safety, Health and Safety, Allergens, Food Handling, Alcohol Licensing knowledge / qualifications
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to adapt to a dynamic work environment.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problemsolving.
  • Positive attitude and friendly demeanour are essential.
  • Comfortable with performing physical tasks.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work with a diverse range of people including marginalised groups

Food ordering & Safety

  • Establish a system for keeping track of levels of stock (beverages, cleaning supplies, dry goods etc) and replenishing them when necessary
  • Awareness of all activities taking place at the Cookery School in a week and ensuring all equipment and ingredients required for a class are made available.
  • Place timely food orders and coordinate accurate and punctual food deliveries.
  • Verify the quality and quantity of received food items.
  • Store ordered food items in accordance with Food Safety guidelines.

Storage

  • Organise and maintain storage cupboards for kitchen supplies, equipment, dry goods, and beverages.
  • Keep an updated inventory of items in cupboards and replenish when necessary.
  • Ensure proper signage across the Cookery School

Checklist Management
Maintain checklists for daily, weekly, and monthly monitoring and inspections in compliance with Health & Safety guidelines.


Cookery Kit Management:


  • Establish a system for periodic inspection and upkeep of cookery kits, considering the ongoing class and demo schedule.
  • Train additional Ops Team members on kit assembly.
  • Ensure timely pickup and delivery of kits to various venues.

Continuous Improvement and Feedback:


  • Monitor feedback and implement operational improvements in the school.
  • Act as the point of contact for matters related to the cookery school.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers.
  • Manage a small budget to support the school's operational needs.
