Our client is seeking a Community Engagement Manager to maintain engagement with their Community of more than 15,200 young leaders (Ambassadors) who are affecting positive change from every country in the world and a huge range of backgrounds; from socialentrepreneurs to campaigners, tech innovators to poets.

About The Day To Day Responsibilities Of The Role

  • Engaging regularly and personally with their Community of young leaders (Ambassadors), providing bespoke development opportunities, promoting their work, connecting them with highlevel speaking engagements, and forging productive connections and partnerships.
  • Managing a remote team of 33 regional coordinators (volunteers) around the world, responsible for driving local engagement and action within their respective regions.
  • Overseeing the delivery of a regular suite of regional events and gatherings (digital and inperson).
  • Managing programmes and external partnerships designed to increase the impact of Ambassadors in the Community.
  • Contributing to communications and campaigns with the Community, supporting both OYW HQ and regional coordinators.
  • Writing and publishing news and thought leadership content for the website.
  • Designing interactive content, mentorship programmes, and networking sessions at their Summit
  • Tracking Community engagement, updates and activities
What will you bring?

  • Have community management experience, with experience building personal and professional relationships with stakeholders from different cultures and countries.
  • Experience and ability to work with stakeholders in different various time zones
  • Have project management experience, demonstrating efficiency and organisation working to tight deadlines, whilst often managing multiple projects at the same time
  • Be a personable, empathetic, and collaborative team leader with experience taking responsibility in highpressure environments
  • Be comfortable engaging with partners in an approachable yet professional manner
  • Ability to manage realistic expectations whilst managing projects and interactions with others
  • Creativity and adaptability when designing events and opportunities, both with partners and internally
  • Have an indepth understanding of a broad range of global issues, international development, and current affairs
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Be fluent in English other language skills are advantageous
  • Have the legal right to work in the UK
  • Be able to commute daily to Central London
Even better if you can bring

  • Written / spoken fluency in a language other than English or French
  • Experience in webbased content management and basic coding knowledge
  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM platforms
  • Graphic design experience and knowledge of programs such as InDesign/Photoshop
  • Video editing skills
Joining the Community Team


The Community Team is the link between their London HQ and the community of more than 15,200 Ambassadors in over 190 countries, working to support their work year-round.

The Team works with over 50+ organisations to provide Ambassadors with funding opportunities,exclusive programmes, mentorship, knowledge-enhancing forums, media exposure, impact measurement, high level speaking engagements, and more.

Between 2020 and 2021, the Team hosted more than 260 Community events attended over 34,000 participants.

Partners includethe World Bank, Goalkeepers by Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, British Museum, Cannes Lions, and World Humanitarian Forum amongst several others.

A snapshot of programmes under the Community portfolio include:

  • Community Events: with partner organisations and members of their Community, they organise in-person and digital Community Events to allow Ambassadors and a wider network of young leaders to connect face to face, continuously learn from key experts, andbuild meaningful partnerships.
  • Action Accelerator: Following the Summit, all their Ambassadors are invited to join the Action Accelerator progamme. Covering a different topic each month from Vision Setting to Pitching and Storytelling the programme builds their capacity to act, starta new initiative or scale up their sustainability solution.
  • Rebuilding Communities Fund: Societies around the world are working hard to recover from the longterm impacts and exacerbated socioeconomic challenges. The Rebuilding Communities Fund is directs funds to the young leaders best positioned to tackle theissues facing young people who are disproportionately experiencing them.
  • Impact Reporting: The Team tracks and documents the impact of Ambassador activities using a Social Return on Investment framework yearround. They've determined that for every $1 invested, OYW Ambassadors deliver $16 in value.
