An extremely exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head of Category to join a market leading, rapidly growing marine technology organisation on a permanent basis.

This position can be based in either
Chandlers Ford or London (W1U).


This role is a brand new and will sit within the procurement team and is a pivotal role and will be responsible for establishing best practice category strategy, developing, and executing successful commercial category strategy and establishing strong collaborative stakeholder relationships.

Global procurement category management is at the heart of their supply chain strategy, so they are looking for someone to take full responsibility and ownership of the category
:Air Delivery and Control

Role responsibilities of the Head of Category include:

  • Develop and execute high performing sourcing and procurement strategies within
    Air Delivery and Control category
  • Construct and manage complex, sophisticated commercial arrangements
  • Support relevant teams to align product strategy with the technology available in the global market
  • Lead supplier development from a product, cost, quality, and delivery perspective
  • Maintain working knowledge of supply chain processes to ensure existing processes exceed industry benchmarks
  • Identifying and mitigating risks and opportunities in the supply chain
  • Establishing effective supplier relationships and developing with key partners
  • Maintaining key relationships with OEMs, professional services, provides, installation providers, logistics partners, installation yards and inservice partners.

Person Specification of the Head of Category:

  • Experience working within commercial procurement
  • essential
  • Exposure within Air Delivery and Control environments such as (air compressors, valves, motors, generators etc)
  • essential
  • Experience with supplier identification, benchmarking, and commercial risk management
  • Stakeholder management at all levels up to and including board level
  • Excellent communication written, verbal and presentation skills

Salary
£75,000-£90,000

This role will be well suited to you if you have held a role within purchasing or procurement as a category manager, category specialist, commodity manager, head of purchasing, purchasing manager, head of procurement or commodity specialist
