We help our clients take decisions concerning complex natural and engineered systems, often in the face of significant uncertainties. Our projects can be unique and are often multi-disciplinary, involving other specialists from inside and outside the Company.An opportunity has arisen for a geoscientist to join our team working in areas including carbon capture and storage, waste management and site restoration.
The associated projects typically involve working closely with clients to develop innovative approaches to solve diverse, challenging and interesting problems and applying our skills in areas such as geochemistry, hydrogeology and contaminant transport.
Key to achieving this is:
developing a sound understanding of the regulatory context for the work and the issues to be addressed; developing detailed conceptual models which allow us to identify key processes to be assessed using quantitative tools; and reporting the outcomes clearly, often including presentations to and discussions with wider stakeholders.
We would like to hear from self-motivated individuals who would be interested in joining our team and have:a strong academic background in earth sciences;
at least 4-5 years' relevant experience (post-first degree), including mid- and later-career geoscientists;
a pragmatic approach to problem solving; and
good communication and presentation skills (in both spoken and written English).
Any experience of undertaking project management, interpreting/developing regulatory guidance, working in a scientific consultancy, applying modelling software or GIS, and/or undertaking business development could be a further advantage.
Training and development will be available for the successful candidate and the role will evolve to fit the successful candidate's strengths and ambitions.
