The Conference and Events function plays a significant role in supporting the University's strategic vision and world-class aspiration through its reputation for the successful delivery and professionalism of conferences, events and other services.

The team'sincome is set to grow significantly from £2million to as much as £4million following industry recovery from the pandemic and investment in facilities both on and off campus, including a new city centre venue set to launch in Spring 2023.

To realise this ambition, we seek to appoint a senior-level individual to work closely with the Head of Conference and Events to manage the operations of the ambitious events programme that the university holds internally and externally.

Working as the Assistant Head of Conference and Events (Operations), you will be responsible for managing and directing the work of the conference and events operations team to successfully plan and deliver conferences and events to a standard that will pleaseand satisfy bookers and their delegates.

You will ensure that conference and event sales costs are managed/controlled to deliver the required profit levels.

To be successful in this role, you will have significant experience in managing staff as well as experience working as part of a management team.

You will also have significant experience in managing successful large conferences and events from start to finish,providing advice on best practice.

You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to work collaboratively with others and build effective working relationships (including the Universities Catering & Hospitality and Residentialservices).

Please note that this role is based on campus.
