Sales Director to lead the global sales strategy for our Kids & Family business on a permanent basis.

Main Responsibilities

As
Sales Director, in this newly created senior role, you will work as part of BBC Studios' Global Distribution team whilst partnering with the Kids & Family business to support ambitious growth plans and drive global strategy.


Alongside Kids & Family production and commercial teams, you will lead commercial activity and placement of some of the most trusted brands in the industry.

You will scope out the market to open up new opportunities, secure commissions, source funding, establish co-productions and oversee deals across all key global markets.

You will utilise and build upon your existing networks to develop new sales and commercial opportunities.

You will lead the overall line of business revenue for the Kids & Family portfolio across co-productions, commissions, and tape sale activity within all major markets.

Priding yourself on negotiating the best possible homes and terms with the most desirable partners to ensure ancillary rights achieve their maximum revenue potential.


As a key member and stakeholder of the BBC Studios' Kids & Family team, you will help set and drive Studios' Global Kids Strategy.

Building and nurturing internal relationships you will lead senior meetings, regularly present sales dashboards, and leverage senior management to support the delivery of Kids & Family strategic agenda.


Working alongside Content Strategy, Production, and Global Distribution teams, you will oversee the timely completion of all demands for sales projections as appropriate to the content, customer, and market.


You will partner with Content Strategy, Central Marketing and Consumer Products to drive continuous, high-impact content awareness with all major customers.

Prioritising ongoing brand and content partnership once deals are concluded to ensure brands are supported at the customer level.


You will lead, recruit, develop and manage a sales team to deliver effectively against personal targets, as well as indirectly managing and overseeing the capabilities of sales teams driving Kids and Family sales in other markets.

Proven sales/commercial experience of 5years or more within the Children's content market

Commercial excellence. In-depth global market knowledge

Experience in exploiting IP through a range of media platforms and/or distribution channels, and in identifying and clearing underlying rights for traded IP

Significant experience operating and influencing at a senior level within a matrix organisation and be able to manage challenges effectively

Innovative approach to creating demand in an increasingly challenging market

Strong commercial acumen, strategic thinking and complex problem solving; recognising all variables and their financial impact in complex negotiations

Collaborative communication and influencing skills, encouraging those around you to engage and deliver against stretching objectives

Flexible approach and adaptive personality enabling you to maintain high-performance under pressure and ambiguity
