    Description

    UK Qualified Solicitor with commercial contract law experience, to deal with the legal aspects of our business. Due to an exciting period of growth we are looking for an ambitious, career minded Solicitor. As well as working on commercial contracts, As Solicitor you will also be safeguarding our reputation by ensuring the company strictly follows UK & Overseas legislative guidelines, and also provide legal advice to the senior management team about all relevant issues, and conduct/manage ongoing litigation.

We offer a very friendly and sociable working environment and are looking for a Solicitor based in the office full time 5 days a week, 9am to 5:30pm.

    As Solicitor this role involves:

    • Effective commercial contract execution
    • Taking ownership of contractual documents
    • Ensuring contractual documentation is executed in a timely manner
    • Mergers, acquisitions and due diligence
    • Dealing with contract negotiations with clients and contractors, ensuring documents give the best outcome for the company, minimise risk, comply with regulations and contain the clauses required by our insurers.
    • Proactively engage with the claims management process ensuring claims are dealt with efficiently and in accordance with insurance requirements.
    • Draft template contracts and policies
    • Manage and deal with lease renewals / exits, dilapidations and property sales / purchases on group properties
    • Liaising with external legal advisors where necessary.
    • Managing Litigation
    • Supervise team of paralegals

    Solicitor with commercial contract experience:

    • Proven experience in a commercial environment
    • Excellent knowledge and understanding of corporate law and procedures
    • Full comprehension of the influences of the external environment of a corporation
    • Demonstrated ability to create legal defensive or proactive strategies
    • High degree of professional ethics and integrity
    • Sound judgement and ability to analyse situations and information
    • Outstanding communication skills
    • BSc degree in Law
    • Experience of transport or logistics would be useful (including knowledge of RHA, UKWA, CMR and BIFFA standard terms)
