£31,809 - £37,422 depending on skills & experience

The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Network Design Officer to join our team.


Key Accountabilities

  • Analysing new customer load requests to ensure the continued safe and reliable operation of the network
  • Managing and prioritising monthly workload for the individual and junior team members, supporting and coaching them to hit their performance and quality targets
  • Building and maintaining all network analysis models for the West Midland gas distribution network, including carrying out model validations to ensure that the Network Analysis models can reasonably predict pressures found in reality
  • Running the Auto Individual System Exit Point (ISEP) & Utility Infrastructure Provider (UIP) process monthly
- to ensure all new loads are added to the models and pressures are maintained

  • Compiling, maintaining, evolving, and implementing management information trackers such as network analysis risk scores and monthly progress reports that helps inform model prioritisations and reinforcement investment decisions
  • Carrying out sense checks to ensure processed work is correct and has been carried out to the required standard, and that the model is fit for purpose
  • Working closely with the West Midland Investment Planning Office (IPO) MRP Design to ensure the annual replacement designs are captured on the network analysis models and are accurately represented
  • Providing network model technical support to the West Midland Investment Planning Office Design team.

About You

Qualifications, Technical Skills, Leadership Skills required for the role

  • Valid UK Driving Licence
  • Minimum HNC in an Engineering Discipline or equivalent experience
  • Experience of operating within a technical team
  • Conversant in legislation, policy and procedures associated with the design process
  • Experience in the use of network design, modelling and risk management tools
  • Understanding of the RIIO regulatory framework
  • Skilled at data management and excellent attention to detail
  • High level of customer, communication and influencing skills and proven experience of managing relationships with both internal and external interfaces.
