We are pleased to be recruiting for an established and well-respected catering and events company, based in the heart of Edinburgh, seeking to appoint an Accounts Assistant on a permanent basis.


The primary duties of the Accounts Assistant include supporting the Head of Finance and the wider team in all financial matters, with a special emphasis on supplier reconciliations and payments, processing of staff expenses, sales ledger, job costing analysis, and cash sheet reconciliations.

Key Responsibilities will include:


  • Assisting the Head of Finance with job costing analysis and supplier payment runs
  • Managing highvolume purchase ledger, including processing, coding, and matching to purchase orders
  • Processing of sales ledger and staff expenses
  • Reconciling cash sheets and assisting with debtor control
  • Providing support to the finance team and wider business with adhoc duties as required.

Skills and Experience required:


  • Experience of supplier reconciliations and payment procedures, including online management of bank accounts
  • Experience of maintaining purchase ledgers and job costing analysis
  • Systematic approach to work
  • Solid administrative and organisational skills
  • Ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines
  • Ability to communicate information clearly and concisely
  • Flexibility to work additional hours to meet organisational needs and targets
  • Good general level of education.
