    Job Description

    We are looking for a Claims Consultant to join our Income Protection team on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract, spending 1-2 days in our Hove office and the rest from home.Offering a salary of up to £25,000 depending on experience.

    What you'll be doing

    • Prepare and set up new claims, ensuring appropriate documentation is issued
    • Request medical evidence on new and existing Income Protection claims, from GPs, consultants and other medical specialists.
    • Ensure that claims are reviewed in line with targeted dates as specified during the assessment process
    • Develop and build effective relationships with Policyholders and IFA's, in order to maximise the effectiveness of our benefit management processes
    • Where appropriate, assist in the provision of Management Information on the block of business which helps to analyse performance and identifies key trends
    • Ensure a consistent, timely and accurate level of service is maintained in line with service level agreements and promises made to meet customers' expectations, and that are within scope of Legal & General's Customer Experience and Treating Customers Fairly policies. Where failures are identified, provide information and feedback to the relevant areas to enable changes and improvements to be made
    • Identify complaints and breaches and refer them on appropriately
    • Raise and authorise payment of invoices within individual authorisation limits as agreed by the Head of Claims
    • Adhere to processes and systems to ensure that all customer data is dealt with appropriately in accordance with legislation, in particular GDPR, the Access to Medical Reports Act and Legal & General's Confidentiality policy.

    Qualifications

    • The drive to take ownership of and resolve customer queries and complaints.
    • Excellent IT skills in Word, Excel and other Microsoft products.
    • An ability to work to deadlines and targets.
    • The jobholder has authorised approval limits as agreed by the Head of Claims
    • Ability to carry out thorough and comprehensive investigations to determine eligibility of Income Protection Claims
    • The job holder may be required to represent the area at internal meetings
