- Leadmanage and mentor a team of Maths teachers providing guidance andsupport for their professionaldevelopment
- Ensure the curriculum meetsnational standards and is aligned with the schools educationalgoals
- Monitor and evaluate the quality ofteaching and learning within the department implementingimprovements as necessary
- Develop and maintainpositive relationships with staff students parents and otherstakeholders
- Manage the department budgetresources and facilities effectively
- Stayupdated with the latest advancements and trends in Mathematicseducation to ensure the department remains at the forefront ofteaching practices
- Collaborate with otherdepartment heads and senior leadership to promote crosscurricularinitiatives
- Adegree in Mathematics or a relatedfield
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) andpreferably a postgraduate qualification in education orleadership
- Proven experience as a Maths teacherwith a strong track record of achieving excellentresults
- Leadership experience ideally as a Headof Department or in a similar leadershiprole
- Excellent knowledge and understanding ofthe Mathematics curriculum and assessmentrequirements
- Strong leadership and managementskills with the ability to inspire and motivate ateam
- Effective communication and interpersonalskills with the ability to build positive relationships withstakeholders
- Strategic thinking andproblemsolving abilities
- Commitment toprofessional development and staying updated with best practices ineducation
- Experience working in a schoolsetting preferably with a diverse studentpopulation
