Interim Finance Director

Purpose of Role:


As part of the senior management team reporting to the Managing Director with overall control and responsibility for all financial aspects of company strategy, analysis of results and implementation of recommendations.


MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leadership and development the Finance, IT and HR teams
  • Manage the budgeting and forecasting process
  • Overall cash management including foreign exchange on an ongoing basis and ultimate responsibility for cash management policies and utilisation of the companies ABL facilities
  • Overall control of all financial transactions and accountancy matters
  • Ensure the company's financial systems are robust, compliant and support current activities and future growth
  • Oversee the management and development of inhouse computer systems, current core operating system is SAP B
  • Proactively improve controls and processes
  • Work alongside our external financial advisers in managing the external audit
  • Work alongside our external financial advisers in managing relations with the banks and other stakeholders
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts and investigation of variances, ensuring the correctness of accruals/provisions
  • Responsibility for all Treasury matters
  • Act as a key business partner across the Senior Management Team, providing sound financial advice
  • Evaluation and monitoring of capital expenditure
  • Overall responsibility for VAT and PAYE
  • Insurance and risk management
  • Company secretarial matters
  • Ensuring that regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies are met
  • Support the MD in tracking performance against key financial metrics
  • Deputising for the MD in his absence

About You

Education & Qualifications:


  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • At least 5 years' experience working at a senior management level, ideally in an SME which has undergone short term business growth
