    Job Title: Assistant/Associate Director of Admissions and Content Development

    Vela Education: Vela Education is a small education consultancy based in London, UK. We specialize in providing ethical, transparent, and up-to-date university admissions advice to parents, students, and schools. We work closely with students to ensure that they prepare authentic and compelling applications to universities in North America and the rest of the world.

    Role Summary: The Assistant Director of Admissions and Content Development will work to support students in all aspects of the university admissions process. This includes strategic consultations, developing academic and extracurricular plans of action, curating ambitious and responsible application lists, overseeing completion of applications and essay development and editing. In addition to this work, the Assistant Director will work closely with the Director to develop educational content to help students, parents, and schools stay informed about North American admissions trends. This content development work will include the creation of public facing documents that highlight Vela Education's ethos and outcomes.     Responsibilities:

    1. Advising students through the entire university search and admissions process

    2. Coaching regarding extracurriculars and summer CV development

    3. Developing collaborative relationships with parents

    4. Developing relationships with both secondary schools and North American universities/colleges

    5. Staying up-to-date about admissions trends and data; analyse and synthesis data for students and families

    6. Creating thoughtful and update-to-date content to support students and schools with the complexities of North American university/college admissions

    7. Create public-facing content to provide accurate information about current trends in North American admissions as well as highlight Vela Education's ethos and outcomes.

    Qualifications and Skills

    1. BA required, MA preferred

    2. Three-to-eight years' experience in North American university/college admissions on either the secondary school or university side; experience on both sides of the desk is ideal

    3. Familiarity with Mailchimp, WordPress, and Social Media Channels

    Compensation: Total compensation will amount to £50,000-£65,000. Vacation will include the standard 4 weeks mandated in the UK with the ability to accrue additional vacation time by working overtime during the busy admissions season.

    Location/Format: The hired applicant must live in London or be willing to commute there. The hired applicant can have a hybrid schedule with three days in the office and two days working remotely. When clients request face-to-face time, honoring this request will be a required.
