My client is searching for a Commercial Property Solicitor to join their Beeston, Nottingham offices.
Job Purpose:
- To advise on and manage various legal aspects of commercial and charity property law including conveyancing sales and purchases, leases, working with landlords and tenants, interviewing clients, preparing documents and correspondence, negotiating on behalfof clients and meeting billing targets
- To contribute to our mission of establishing lifelong relationships with all our clients by anticipating and responding to their needs for quality legal services
Main Duties:
- To manage a varied caseload of commercial property matters from start to finish including sales and purchases, leases, buytolet purchases and sales, development refinancing transactions, charity and charity property matters and other landlord and tenantwork
- To take a proactive approach in building professional relationships with clients and other contacts in order to develop our commercial property presence in the area
- To work productively with colleagues in all our offices
- To maintain and promote the good image and reputation of the firm
- To assist colleagues, Directors and Heads of Department with any marketing and training events and initiatives
- To manage and supervise junior staff and support staff including assisting with recruitment, training etc if required
- To use the case management software
General Duties:
- To work in a flexible way to ensure that the workload is completed and to undertake any other jobs commensurate with the level of the post
- To establish, maintain and enhance teamworking with colleagues and staff of the firm
- To keep confidential all information about individuals and the business of the firm and work within the guidelines of the GDPR
- To abide by our Equality and Diversity, Health and Safety, Anti Money Laundering Policies and all other relevant policies
Experience:
- Extensive (2+ years') experience handling commercial property sales, purchases and leases from start to finish including leases, buy to let purchases and sales and other commercial sales and purchases
- Experience of working with both tenants and landlords
- Experience of establishing, building and sustaining professional relationships with clients and external agencies
- Experience of managing own workload and prioritising appropriately
- Experience of working with charities and charity property ideally including Churches and Christian Charities
- A proven track record of meeting billing targets
Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent communication skills
- Demonstrable understanding of legal and property issues affecting Churches and Christian Charities
- Ability to have an empathetic and supportive approach to working closely with Church and Charity Trustees and Ministers
- Ability to work on own initiative with mínimal supervision and also as part of a team
- Excellent IT skills
