    About Myself

    I am a eighteen year old girl living at home with my mum, step dad and brother.

    I like to listen to music and like to dance, I enjoy going for drives in the car, to go on walks and I love to go swimming

    If I could choose some new things to do, they would be – horse riding, cycling and touch trust.

    I do not like busy environments or loud noises

    I have a diagnoses of ASD as well as ADHD as well as learning disabilities with language and speech difficulties, I occasionally have seizures

    I am non verbal but do communicate well through gestures as well as my PEC books, as well as my touch talker, when encouraged to do so

    Tasks/ duties required of a Personal Assistant

    To provide support to access various social and recreational activities. You must therefore have a clean driving license and use own vehicle.

    To provide personal care support

    To provide support to access voluntary opportunities in the community

    To provide support in the home

    To support and manage distress behaviour and keep me safe.

    To provide support with preparing meals

    To assist in the maintenance of independent living and so provide me with a greater range of opportunities to enhance her lifestyle.

    All support to be provided using a person-centred approach.

    TYPE OF PERSON/S REQUIRED

    The ideal person will have a good sense of humour and should also display plenty of energy, initiative and enthusiasm. In addition, applicants should be patient and trustworthy with a flexible and empathic attitude.

    A positive attitude and clear understanding of confidentiality is essential. Promoting the independence of the client will be the main focus for any support.

    You must be reliable, friendly and punctual.

    You must be flexible as hours may vary depending on the monthly rota

    You will be expected to cover holidays and sickness as part of a team.

    The following skills/experience will be required – manual handling, first aid and food hygiene. Training can be provided.

    The post will include 5.6 weeks paid annual leave (pro-rata)

    Additional Information

    Successful applicants will be subject to a three-month trial period.

    A DBS check will be required, this will be at no cost to yourself.
