    Director of Internal Communications

    12 months contract (Inside IR35, up to £800 per day)/Permanent salary = £120K - £130K

    Hybrid (Initially 2-3 days a week in the client's office)

    As the Director of Internal Communications for client's services business, you will play a vital part to support the client's growth, perception, and employee engagement.

    A major proportion of the employees are field staff and the key objective of this role is to create and deliver effective communications to engage their workforce. You will be leading internal communications that reflect the brand, values, and a vibrant culture. This role will work very closely with other business functions, thereby it is important that you are collaborative and can build less reactive and more professional relationship with the SLT, unions, etc.

    It is essential that you have worked in a heavily unionized environment, have the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels and are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. This role reflects a balance of both operational and strategic experience. This is a highly customer centric organization and expectation is that you would have worked with similar businesses.

    It is significant that you will be able to set up the leadership team in the people group, alongside working closely with operations. This role requires someone who will be wiling to take accountability and work with other directors so to avoid repetitive communications and make it more engaging.

    Ideally, success would look like maintaining engagement scores, creating a clear communications calendar and an events calendar so people can plan ahead or know what to expect.

    Key Skills and Experience:

    • Identify opportunities for quick wins and deliver messaging as required
    • Complement writing efforts for the C-suite
    • Review company policies as needed for clarity, inclusivity and the client's tone of voice
    • Must exhibit cultural awareness, discretion, and professional maturity
    • Be able to build a cohesive collaborative team, build relationships with external communications and branding.
    • Essential that you have experience working in heavily unionized environments
    • Must have worked with a workforce which was heavily field-based
