Systems IVVQ Engineer – Mission Systems

Are you looking for your next challenge to join a growing and diverse team dedicated to developing our future maritime mission systems for customers worldwide? Are you looking for an opportunity to undertake a pivotal role towards future innovation and capability? This is the role for you

    The Role:

As a Systems IVVQ Engineer you work in an international multidisciplinary team on the design, development and validation of a command & control system. Your team consists of representatives of the customer, suppliers of subsystems and other parties involved. In the team you are responsible for the technical design. Activities include amongst others:

    • Discuss operational needs together with the customer
    • Design the architecture of the command & control system
    • Define the functional behaviour of the system
    • Define interfaces between the Thales command & control system and 3rd party subsystems
    • Manage technical issues of subcontracts during the development of the Mission Solution
    • Demonstrate the solution to the customer

When you join our group you will have a varied working week. One moment you discuss your solution with the customer, the other you spend defining the interaction between our command & control system and other systems on board of the ship. You frequently meet with your team to learn from each other and to discuss progress.

    About you:

We are looking for a proactive and forward thinking Systems Engineering professional with experience working with combat management systems or equivalent systems where many sensors and data sources are tracked and evaluated (enabling real-time decisions to be made on a complex and evolving problem). System Engineers are the key contributors to the System Engineering process and must resolve all issues, problems, questions and conflicts in the entire system. This requires frequent handling of new and unusual issues therefore a proven record of working in a Systems Engineering environment is required. You will ideally enjoy interaction and collaboration with other engineers and teams as well as have a general interest and passion for innovation and developing future capability.

This position will require eligibility for SC clearance – please refer to the UKSV website for more information.
