About the role

As a member of the Defence Management Team, the Head of Submarine Platforms is accountable for the general management of the JFD Submarine Platforms Product Line, and responsible for supporting Country General Managers to grow and deliver the Submarine Platforms business in JFD's home markets.

In this role you will lead a global multi-disciplinary team to develop and implement JFD's Submarine Platforms strategy and deliver mission success for our customers.

You will take ownership and lead the global development for securing key submarine platforms programme positions and secure key submarine content for JFD core systems.

You will play an integral role in the development of the strategy and delivery of sales growth for JFD by ensuring we develop and present submarine solutions credibly to prime customers and strategic target nations as well as roadmap customer requirements for the future.

In this role your key responsibilities will include:

Lead JFD's global Submarine Platforms portfolio, supporting Country General Managers for our home markets.
As a member of the Defence management team, develop the Submarine Platforms strategy and own its implementation.
Deliver mission success for our customers, achieving or exceeding contract performance obligations.
Accountable for the profitable and sustainable growth of our Submarine Platforms business, supported by Sales and Marketing colleagues.
Deliver short and long term financial objectives, including budget adherence and forecast accuracy.
Ensure health, safety, environment, sustainability and security objectives are achieved, with direct accountability for safety of Submarine Platforms personnel.
Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, supported by Legal & Compliance and HSEQS departments.
Lead the Submarine Platforms team, achieving high levels of engagement, promoting a resilient, diverse, high performing team.

What do you need?

Engineering or Business Degree qualified
Demonstrated experience in a leadership role in an international business
Delivery focused
Safety Leadership
Experience in an operational maritime role
Business and commercial acumen
Experienced negotiator, capable of agreeing long term strategic commercial benefit for the company
Setting and delivering medium and long term strategy, budget and manpower plans
