    A little bit about us:
    East West Rail is a proposed new railway linking communities between Oxford and Cambridge. The area is currently let down by a lack of transport choices, and we have a once in a generation opportunity to fix that – improving prosperity for people and places along the way.

    East West Railway Company (that's us) was created by the Department for Transport (DfT) to oversee the delivery of East West Rail from construction through to wheels in motion, making sure the railway comes together in the right way.

    Role Summary:
    As part of the Engineering team, the BIM manager will have expert background in Building Information Modelling - someone who can not only look at the conceptual design but also the methodology and a proven track record of delivering high value and high-profile BIM projects in a compliant environment. They will drive the adoption of digital solutions and adherence to industry standards. The BIM Manager will have a natural coaching style comfortable with working closely and interacting with the wider Engineering community, our programme teams, and Partner Organisations.

    East West Rail operates a matrix structure. This role sits within the Engineering, Technology & Solutions Community

    Line Manager – Digital Engineering Manager.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead the elicitation, development and implementation of the BIM Execution Plan, other relevant Information Requirements, BIM/Digital processes, methodologies, and standards.
    • Management of BIM project data sets & Workflows.
    • Oversee the creation and maintenance of BIM and EWR Co Common Data Environment ensuring accuracy and compliance with EWR Co policies and industry standards including the Construction Design & Management (CDM) Regulations.
    • Adhere to latest industry standards and best practice.
    • Facilitate collaboration among key stakeholders to enhance coordination and communication.
    • Support the Digital Engineering Manager and GIS Manager in the development of the BIM elements of the Systems and Digital Engineering Strategy
    • Drive the implementation of agreed digital solutions and strategies on projects and programmes.
    • Be able to identify risks and appropriate mitigations.
    • Takes responsibility of your own and others' health and safety by adopting and working to the EWR Co Health and Safety principles.
    • Co-operates with EWR Co in all matters relating to health and safety, including following safe working procedures at all times.
    • Acts as a role model for EWR Co's vision and values, behaving in ways that are aligned with EWR Co's Ways of Working, as well as encouraging and supporting others to do so too.
    • Promotes diversity in the workplace and adopt appropriate behaviour when interacting with colleagues.


    Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

    • Experience of working on large multidisciplinary rail projects.
    • Significant experience working as a BIM Manager.
    • In-depth knowledge of BIM software (e.g., Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360) and familiarity with IT systems.
    • Knowledge of information modelling and a whole lifecycle approach to asset information capture and management.
    • Knowledge of data quality, validation and verification, and assurance methods and practices.
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
    • Solid understanding of data management and quality control processes within a BIM environment.
    • Experience of managing internal, specialist teams.
    • In depth knowledge of working with Bentley systems ProjectWise platform
    • Experience in managing common data environments.
    • Experience in BIM GIS interoperability.
    • Knowledge of simulation, AI and Digital Twin development and evolution
    • Must have knowledge of ISO 19650 standard.

    Education and qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as engineering, architecture, or construction.
    • Certifications in BIM software tools
    • Knowledge of BIM Level 2 (primarily PAS1192-2, BS1192-4, PAS1192-5)
