We have have an exciting opportunity to join us at ESNEFT on a permanent basis as the Head of Clinical Workforce; the role sits within the Corporate Nursing and Quality team under the direct line management of the Deputy Chief Nurse.


The role is pivotal in working in collaboration with our Divisional Senior Nurse Leaders, all departments within the organisation and is outward facing and you will be required to be the ESNEFT representative at external meetings at local, regional, ICS and national levels.


ESNEFT have been commended for their robust OSCE programme with high pass rates for our international recruits (both nurses and midwifery) and your role will work in close collaboration with the Deputy Chief Nurse to ensure that there are robust pipelines of recruits to support our workforce requirements.


You will lead in maintaining, improving and developing new avenues to support our new recruitment pipelines which include our Trainee Nurse Associates programme and our Health Care Assistant retention programme.


You will be responsible for leading and delivering the annual acuity review process and the SafeCare workplan for the Trust.

The post will be responsible for a team of nursing and administrative staff to deliver the programmes described.

  • In conjunction with the Deputy Chief Nurse (Workforce) the post holder(s) will ensure the delivery of a comprehensive vision for the continued development of education and workforce arrangements across the trust.
  • In conjunction with the trust vision ensure training programmes and education are in Assess the training needs of the health workforce, evaluate training programmes across the trust.
  • Ensure robust governance surrounding education, learning and workforce
  • To support the wider Nursing, Midwifery & AHP and Quality function offering specialist educational/professional/clinical support as
  • To provide leadership within education and workforce on all matters relating to this function inclusive of
  • To collaborate with other education and workforce leads across the
  • To promote a culture of acceptance and understanding by all health care practitioners of their responsibilities for workforce development and continuous learning
  • To contribute to the review and update of relevant policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with national bodies
  • Represent the trust at education and workforce forums and other sub groups requiring
  • To work closely with education and workforce professionals in other health organisations to share good practice and to strengthen opportunities for development and
  • To present reports as required to trust board and other stakeholders as required.
  • To undertake individual clinical supervision of staff as requested and encourage the use of critical analysis and reflective skills to examine current practice and enable change in the quality of the patient's experience.
  • Works with wards/departments and education providers to ensure the delivery of good quality education and training that meets the needs of the Trust, staff and patients therefore fostering a culture of learning.
