We are looking for a highly motivated, dedicated patient focused individual to join our team on Brantham Ward. You will join a friendly, supportive team who is determined to make a difference to the patients.


You will actively participate as a full member of the team, assisting with the smooth running of the ward by managing the reception and administrative functions in a timely, effective and efficient way alongside Doctors, Nurses and Healthcare Assistants.

Your duties will include admission and discharge of patients on Lorenzo and Evolve computer systems, booking of appointments and filing of notes, answering phones and liaising with multidisciplinary teams/departments across the trust.


You should be able to work autonomously, be able to prioritise your workload and to work well within a team.

You will have the ability to communicate effectively with members of the public, both face-to-face and over the phone.

It would be beneficial to have NHS experience and possess excellent IT and clerical skills.

You will be dealing with the staff and general public so it is paramount that you have good people skills.

Working hours will be varied, so you must be flexible.

You will be required to work internal rotation over a 7 day period.

  • Maintaining ward diary information.
  • Arrange patient appointments
  • Check computer details each morning and expected dates of discharge updating as required.
  • Maintain safe and tidy working environment, update ward notice boards and report maintenance problems to estates.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times relating to patient care within the ward area.
  • Assist the ward sister in undertaking clerical duties/ administration duties
  • To welcome patients and visitors to the ward in an appropriate manner, showing them to the bed on request.
