We're looking for a Depot Operative to join our Highways team based in Wellingborough.

Responsibilities
As Depot Operative you'll be working within the Delivery team, supporting them with management of the depot.

Your day to day will include:

  • Accepting and processing deliveries, handling pool vehicles as directed
  • Daily loading and unloading of materials onto and from works or delivery vehicles using a wheeled loading shovel/forks
  • Managing salt deliveries, undertaking treatment of emergency spillages or salting during, maintaining fuel stocks and distribution, loading vehicles & skips
  • Policing of health & safety and PPE requirements within the depot, accounting of stock levels including issuing of materials, PPE etc.
  • Undertaking depot inspections, cleaning the depot when required and monitoring of environmental issues within the depot

Who are we looking for?
This role of Depot Operative is great for you if you can:

  • Show a willingness to develop and learn within a highway's maintenance environment, work outside and experience in the safe use and inspection of hand tools
  • Drive and hold a full driving licence with HGV class 2 entitlements and CPCS (A21)
  • Loading Shovel Training
  • Wheeled
