    Our Haematology Outreach service at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust is expanding.

    The service is responsible for providing a high standard of care for patients in the community with a variety of Haematology conditions monitoring blood counts, undertaking nurse led reviews, administering systemic anti-cancer treatments (SACT) in patient's homes, coordinating treatment pathways, and offering end of life support.

    You will work within an established service and will be integral in an exciting project to develop a service across all Trust sites.

    Initial induction will be at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital with South Birmingham community visits with the opportunity to negotiate a permanent base.

    We require a forward thinking, ambitious nurse, who can work autonomously, ideally with Non-Medical Prescribing, who is willing to undertake the Non-Medical Authorisation of blood components course.

    A full driving licence and car are essential to the role (mileage will be reimbursed as per Trust policy).
    Developing a service across all Trust sites to serve all Birmingham communities
    Delivery of SACT in the community
    Delivering associated supportive care and monitoring
    Coordinating with day units and inpatient teams
    Ability to balance clinical and management roles
    Confidence in non-medical prescribing

    Registered Adult Nurse on the NMC Register (Field dependent upon role)

    • Phlebotomy skills
    • Evidence and ability to revalidate as required by the NMC
    • Evidence of achievements and career development in current post and of ongoing professional development/ competence
    • Experience of team/staff management
    • Working in a multi-disciplinary and cross agency work environment
    • Awareness of current relevant NHS policy context relating to the speciality
