Valuations Control - VP/AVP Level
Our client, a reputable British international bank, is looking for a Valuations Control professional at VP and AVP level to be part of the newly set up Valuation Control team in Glasgow, reporting into the regional Head.
The bank deploys finance responsibly to support people and businesses, acting with empathy and integrity, championing innovation and sustainability, for the common good and the long term.
Key Accountabilities
- Be a part of the Valuation Control team in Glasgow covering Equities/Credit/Macro/Cross Markets/Treasury
- Full ownership of Intramonth price testing to consensus, exchange, broker, or other data of pricing inputs and model outputs for fair value positions across asset classes.
- Liaising with product control, risk management and quantitative departments on valuation and modelling issues.
- Discussion, reporting and escalation of price testing results with front office and senior management.
- Significant involvement in regional and global ad hoc projects / investigation.
- Working on creating solutions / improvements to the IPV process. This requires working with the "Change Management" team to enhance specification of technology requirements as well as assisting with testing & managing new releases.
- Effectively manage relationships across departments and the desk.
- Lead a team in charge of the calculation of price testing results.
- Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise-Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards.
Experience Required
- Good understanding of Investment banking products with an appreciation/Understanding of Valuation concepts
- Experience and proven track record in dealing with various Stakeholders.
- Good Quantitative skills with experience in the related IT tools and MS office.
- Strong interpersonal skills and stakeholder management and ability to work independently to resolve unstructured problems.
- Strong communication skills and ability to present / explain complex issues in simple terms with stakeholders from Trading, Finance, market Risk and IT across different levels.
- 3+ experience in related areas/Controls/Data analytics
