    Senior Shift Engineer - FMCG - Tywyn, Wales - Up to £50,000

    Working for a fast-moving food producing manufacturer, part of a global business that specialises in taking brands direct to consumers.

    Multi-site facility with ongoing investment taking technology and automation as priority investment.

    As Senior Multi-Skilled Shift Engineer this is a key leadership role within the engineering team of a food processing facility.

    This role is responsible for leading and coordinating maintenance activities across various shifts, ensuring the efficient operation of machinery and equipment, and providing technical expertise to resolve complex issues.

    The Senior Engineer plays a crucial role in maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and operational efficiency within the food production environment.


    Senior Shift Engineer - The Rewards

    Competitive salary £46,000 - £50,000

    Shift:
    Rotating Days/Nights 4 on, 4 off (6am-6pm / 6pm-6am) Senior Shift Engineer - Requirements & Responsibilities

    Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field; professional engineering certification is a plus.
    Extensive experience in a maintenance leadership role within the food industry.
    Strong technical knowledge of food processing equipment, automation systems, and utilities.
    Proficiency in PLC programming, electrical troubleshooting, and mechanical systems.
    Familiarity with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and quality management systems. Commitment to continuous learning, professional development, and staying updated with industry trends. Lead and mentor a team of multi-skilled engineers and technicians across multiple shifts.
    Provide technical expertise to diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and automation issues.
    Collaborate with the engineering and production teams to optimize equipment performance and reliability. Conduct root cause analysis for equipment failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
    Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and PLC-based control systems to maintain operational efficiency. Drive initiatives to reduce waste, improve productivity, and enhance overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). Ensure compliance with safety regulations, standards, and company policies.
    Promote a culture of safety awareness and adherence to best practices among the engineering team. Coordinate with production, quality, and supply chain teams to prioritize maintenance activities and minimize disruptions.
    Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels to provide updates on maintenance schedules, equipment status, and project timelines.
