Software Engineers - Embedded - Glasgow (Hybrid) - To 60K plus benefits


Lorien's client is a market leader in the creation of cutting-edge products to a range of industries including medical research, renewable energy and more, and on the back of continued success and significant internal investment, they're now in the middleof a recruitment drive across their tech function.


Right now they're looking to add some new talent into their Embedded Engineering squad - much like those we have introduced ourselves who love the place already - specifically Mid to Senior level Software Engineers with C programming skills, a strong graspof RTOS and low level driver development, and other relevant expertise.

Here's some of what you can expect to get up to:

  • Developing code to be used in key systems produced by the firm and used by customers around the globe
  • Integrating key software with their hardware offerings
  • Being a core part of a crossfunctional techncial team working on exciting, bleedingedge products
  • Helping the engineering function to improve as you work and contribute to the scoping of wider development activities and use your skills to enhance the team and its practices around you

Here are the kind of skills/knowledge they're looking for:

  • Strong track record of C programming and an Object-Oriented approach to Software Engineering
  • Handson skills across Embedded Software and Hardware Integration, Verification and Testing
  • Knowledge of lowlevel driver development as well as Microcontroller interfaces
  • Good grasp of RTOS (Real Time Operating Systems)
  • Willingness to learn new technologies yourself and by collaborating with the wider team
  • Ability to work in a fully fledged R&D setting, in a newly renovated and well equipped centre
