    Morleys Department Stores Group is an independent, privately-owned department store group that operates 8 stores principally in greater London and Newbury, and an Ecommerce platform for our flagship store in Wimbledon. Our stores are at the heart of local communities and have centuries of heritage, brand trust and loyalty - all key to the values we bring to life in-store and through our communications.

    An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head of Technology, based in head office in Wimbledon.

    Role: Head of Information Technology

    Reporting to: Group Finance Director

    Type: Permanent, Full Time

    Purpose of the Role:

    To manage and develop the IT function of Morley Stores ensuring all systems and IT processes within the business are secure, compliant and meets the ongoing needs of the group.

    Position Profile & Role Summary -

    Based in the Head office in Wimbledon and reporting to the Group Finance Director you will be an integral and hands-on part of the Head Office team managing and developing the IT capability across all sites.

    • Able to offer strategic IT advice to Head of Departments regarding innovative solutions for the future success of the business.
    • Managing internal and 3rd party IT support to
    • provide first/second- and third-line support to sites and head office.
    • Ensure stores have the IT infrastructure & connectivity in place to trade efficiently.
    • Managing the investigation, tendering and negotiation of key operational systems upgrades such as Financial, POS / Inventory Management and HR systems (amongst other software's) to ensure we are using the best-in-class software that enables the business to be agile and react to customer needs.
    • Controlling / Project managing any IT implementations required to support the business. This includes New Sites, Refurbs and application changes.
    • Continually reviewing the security of the network and maintain the best standards.

    Have strong awareness of PCI-DSS & GDPR and it's importance within a retail business.

    Managing the compliance of systems changes.

    Develop and maintain the IT disaster recovery process.

    Document and maintain new and existing IT policies and procedures.

    Assisting concession partners with any required implementations on Morleys sites

    • Assist with the directional leadership of the IT structure of the group ensuring best practice is applied to future IT strategy.
    • Manage and develop the organisational structure of the IT function ensuring its best placed to support the wider business.

    Team

    • Morleys runs a tight an efficient technology function managing an SQL Administrator & a Support Manager
    • Working alongside well-established solutions partners for swift innovation and implementations.

    Essential requirements – Skills, Qualifications & Experience

    • Multi-site retail business experience including exposure and implementation of software tools such as:
    • Finance software.
    • EPOS
    • Inventory management software.
    • Data warehousing, reporting and visualisation.
    • Web front end – Shopify
    • CRM tools
    • Ticket Management (ITSM)
    • Pricing tools – Not essential
    • Experience project managing a system implementation.
    • Experience in data management.
    • Experience in developing new IT strategies.
