Job Purpose:

The Global Head of FX Technology will lead the delivery of technology solutions for the Global FX Technology Organization.
The role is part of the Macro Technology Management team reporting to the Global Head of Macro Technology.

Responsibilities include definition of the FX architecture, execution, stakeholder management, governance and day to day management of the cross functionalorganization with the FX Technology organization.

The role requires delivery of direct business benefit, measurable in $, regulatory compliance and advanced optimization capabilities. Combined, these capabilities are central to enabling ICG to meet regulatory and business objectives.

The Head of FX Tech will initially be responsible for a cash budget of approximately $100 million and a global headcount of approx.

1100 Direct Staff.


Job background/context:


The Head of FX Tech is responsible for driving innovative thought leadership and new approaches to allow Citi to continue to compete and "Be the Best" for our clients.

Key responsibilities:

The Head of FX Tech will be responsible for the following aspects:

  • Lead and manage a large, global technology organization with an annual spend of approximately $80 million
  • Manage the team to ensure greatest impact, efficient use of resource and alignment to business structures as possible. Set a clear vision for the team around roles and responsibilities
  • Execute the strategic roadmap for FX Tech in line with business objectives
  • Optimize the organization efforts to increase productivity and deliver efficiency through innovation, process improvement and simplification of the technology stack
  • Manage the regulatory agenda in line with broader business objectives and working with other key IT and business stakeholders to ensure consistent delivery

Development value:


  • Highly visible strategic leadership role with senior level contact across ICG O&T and Markets
  • Development of business/product knowledge in FX
  • Senior client representative of Citi engaging with senior members of client organization

Knowledge/ experience:

The role will ideally have a combination of the following:

  • 15+ years of demonstrated Senior Technology Leadership roles in the financial industry or a related field
  • Successful track record as a change leader in a large and complex environment
  • Demonstrated ability to take an organization from a perspective of legacy technology to a position of industry leading technology innovation
  • Possess a track record of transforming a global business through strong execution and delivery
  • Experience running or creating an agile methodology that is deeply ingrained in the fabric of a large scale technology and operations function
  • Strong talent focus and ability to successfully recruit and develop experts from leading organizations across the globe
  • Ability to communicate a compelling vision and inspire others to deliver on an ambitious, complex, global roadmap
  • Ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels within an organization, from the most technical engineer to the savviest business / executive leader
  • Possess uncompromising ethics, unwavering integrity and understanding of risk & regulatory process, as well as outstanding communications and interpersonal skills
  • Broad financial expertise with knowledge of corporate affairs, financial and economic fundamentals, and business policies, products, processes, systems and roles
  • Be creative and passionate, driven by a desire for innovation and creation of an amazing client experience smart risk taking outside the box thinking
  • Possess first hand insights into the way that digital transformation is affecting industry and knowledge of best practices

Qualifications:

Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline. Advanced degree preferred.
