Primary School Teaching Assistant (SEMH)


Salary:
£11.10 per hour (inclusive of £1.20 holiday entitlement)


Contract:
Zero-hours contract.

Who we are looking for:


Aspire Behaviour Management are currently on the lookout for motivated individuals who are passionate about providing effective care and support to Children and Young People throughout several different boroughs, via our Specialist Supply Agency.


The Children and Young People we support have a range of Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs (SEMH), and are identified as at risk of exclusion from mainstream education.

Therefore, this can be a challenging role but one of the most rewarding.

Our Specialist Supply Agency are looking for people who hold the following:

  • Previous experience working with Children and Young People.
  • Grade 4 or above in English & Maths (or equivalent)
  • A passion for going above and beyond for Children & Young People and the individual needs they have.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to understand not every day is a challenge.
  • Be excited about each day bringing something new to the table.
  • Calm, understanding and empathetic.
  • Engage with the children by modelling positive relationships.
  • Willingness to learn about the Children and Young People you are working with, to support them to reach their full potential.

The Role:


Our aim is to provide Children and Young People with barriers to education, and who may find mainstream education overwhelming, with calm and nurturing people.


Therefore, day to day duties will involve:

  • Using effective behaviour management strategies.
  • Developing positive relationships to assist with progress and attainment.
  • Assisting with delivery, monitoring and the review of individuals targets.
  • Assisting with pupils in the classroom settings.
  • Assisting the Teacher / Room Lead to set up the classroom and/or activities as needed.
  • Classroom administrative tasks, including maintenance of records.
  • Ensuring the classroom, and school environment are safe, clean and kept to a high standard at all times.
