Business Development Officer

Field Based South West Leicestershire

£30,000 p.a.

The Company:


ER Recruitment is working in partnership with a highly reputable organisation who are seeking an experienced Business Development Officer to drive new business acquisition and identify new markets, partnerships, products and services.

As well as acting asa brand ambassador for the business, engaging with local communities and building brand awareness cross the region.


Role & Responsibilities of the Business Development Officer:

  • Building strong relationships with local businesses and community partners.
  • Responsible for pitching retail savings, and workplace savings across a wide range of external stakeholders.
  • Hold events at business and community forums as required.
  • Deliver impactful community initiatives and drive social value.
  • Work with key local partners to deliver community impacts through KPIs, during the lifecycle of project.
  • Attend conferences and events to continually build relationships.
  • Appointment booking, by cold calling and closing appointmentbased activity over telephone/face to face.
  • Generate new business opportunities.
  • Provide up to date and accurate reports to your line manager and Head of Department.
  • Assist Office Managers, Operations Manager and Head of Department with fieldbased activities/volunteering and communication where required.
  • Work alongside relevant departments to coordinate business development initiatives.
  • Work to KPIs (activity and performance).
  • Responsible for aligning external marketing communication by working collaboratively with marketing team.

About You as the Business Development Officer:

  • Financial Services experience and knowledge of products and regulation is desirable
  • Proven experience of creating, and converting new opportunities
  • Ability to build and maintain successful relationships with existing and new customers/partnerships
  • Able to work alone, prioritising and managing own workload
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, interpersonal and presentation)
  • Driven to achieve and exceed objectives, with a positive cando attitude
  • A strategic thinker, with a keen eye for detail
  • Awareness, understanding and experience of using social media platforms
  • Computer literate with Microsoft office
  • Full UK Driving License
