Director of Programmes and Collections - Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom - University of Cambridge

    Default job background
    Description
The University of Cambridge collections comprise the University's museums, the Botanic Garden and the University Libraries. This role leads the team delivering cross-collections programmes and initiatives for all audiences.

The role's main focus is currently the leadership of the ACE funded Band 3 NPO (National Portfolio Organisation) programme, encompassing creative direction, team leadership, programme delivery, administration and reporting.

It also includes development of joint-working across the collections, funding bids, and strategic advocacy to users and stakeholders.

You will lead the team tasked with the development, delivery, management and reporting of funded and other project activity within the University of Cambridge collections consortium.

The team acts as a central collaborative hub developing and delivering collections-related initiatives across the University collections, and within community partnerships.

The team also plays a significant part as a regional hub and sector leader for South-East England.
Working closely with the Director of Collections' Strategy, you will report regularly to governance groups.

Regionally, you will provide strategic sector support, advocating for the collections, and acting as the key contact point for community partnerships.

You will provide team leadership and management oversight, delivering collaborative, dynamic, and innovative programmes with an emphasis on working in ways that are inclusive and audience-focused.

Working with the Director of Collections' Strategy and other partners, you will be expected to be closely involved in preparing and coordinating strategically identified fundraising applications on behalf of the team.

You will coordinate the production of related business, audience and other strategic and delivery plans and reporting across the collections' consortium.

Competitive rates of pay with automatic service-related pay progression and annual cost of living increases.
Generous annual leave allowance of 41 days paid leave (including bank holidays).
Generous maternity, adoption and shared parental leave entitlement and other family friendly schemes (e.g. workplace nurseries and salary exchange schemes for childcare).
An auto-enrolment pension scheme, with a generous employer contribution.
Travel benefits and retail discounts at over 2,000 local and national stores.
Schemes to support with relocation / the provision of accommodation.

Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a basic disclosure (criminal records check) check and a security check.
