Aston Education is working with an 11-18 secondary school in Southwark, Southeast London (inner London), looking for a permanent Second in charge of Music to start in September 2024.
The Music department has four members of staff and a valued team of peripatetic teachers.
Music is taught at KS3, and it is a popular option at GCSE. You'll support building this up to include A level. A wide range of extra-curricular clubs, orchestras, choirs and ensembles run weekly.
As a Second in charge of Music, you'll further build upon a well-established programme, ensuring the continued development of the elite programmes, participatory extra-curricular and curriculum music, and performance.
The Second in charge of Music will be a highly motivated individual who has QTS/QTLS and excellent knowledge and experience teaching the Music curriculum.
They will be able to communicate a clear vision for the future and inspire colleagues and pupils. They will be a skilled and diverse musician.The school has state-of-the-art facilities and excellent transport links in zone 1.
