    Job Title: B1 Support Worker

    Salary: £23,892.96 pro rata

    Hours: Various – flexible hours (early/late/weekends)

    Contract: Temporary Contract

    Location: Spring Gardens Otley

    About You

    As a support worker, your responsibilities will include:

    • Supporting individuals with daily tasks such as personal care, meal assistance, and promoting independence.

    • Showcasing strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as numeracy proficiency.

    About the Role

    As our next support worker, you'll work in our Care Delivery Service, providing essential assistance to individuals in accommodation or day services. Your role will involve social, leisure, and personal care support, requiring excellent communication and teamwork skills.

    The Care Delivery Service focuses on empowering adults from diverse backgrounds by using a person-centered approach to maximize independence and recovery.

    We collaborate with families, caregivers, and other professionals to provide comprehensive care and guidance.

    Job Description

    Job Purpose

    Contribute to providing comprehensive support to customers, enabling them to lead independent and fulfilling lives using a strengths-based approach.

    Responsibilities

    • Work collaboratively as part of a team to enhance service delivery.
    • Provide support across older people accommodation services.
    • Assist new staff members in understanding their roles.
    • Collaborate with senior support workers to assess and plan for new referrals.
    • Participate in support planning, risk assessment, and implementation for customer independence.
    • Engage in reviews and multi-agency meetings to ensure customer well-being.
    • Support customers in daily living skills and medication management.
    • Facilitate community engagement and provide practical support.
    • Adhere to safeguarding protocols and promote customer advocacy.

    Qualifications

    Commitment to complete Level 2 Adult Care Worker Apprenticeship within 12 months.

    Opportunity to pursue a Level 3 Lead Adult Care Worker Apprenticeship.

    Essential Requirements

    • Communication skills to interact effectively with stakeholders.
    • Moving & handling ability.
    • Experience in health and social care settings.
    • Use of person-centered approaches.
    • Empathy, patience, and crisis management skills.
    • Respect for diversity and confidentiality.
    • Literacy and numeracy proficiency.
    • Completion of Care Certificate.
