In an emergency call 999.We welcome applications from substantive Detective Chief Inspectors and substantive Detective Inspectors supported for promotion, for the role of Detective Chief Inspector – Deputy Head of Prevent.
This is an exciting opportunity to join Counter Terrorism Policing South East (CTPSE), where you will work to identify and safeguard individuals vulnerable to radicalisation and manage risk of the CT Prevent Network delivery Business Plan.
You will support the Prevent strand of CONTEST by connecting counter terrorism policing, force led policing, Prevent Duty Partners and communities.
You will also be responsible for overseeing the operational activity and management of Prevent Case Management (PCM) across the region.
You will have experience in case management and knowledge of working within a Partnership/Safeguarding environment. A good understanding of the National Intelligence Model (NIM) is also essential.This role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you will be required to travel for business purposes.
This may include travel across the UK and is not limited to the south east. Therefore the successful candidate will require a full UK driving licence.You will be asked to demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours in line with operational demand and occasionally this may require working away from home.
Exemptions may apply for overseas or other diplomatic service (with HM Government), and studying abroad.Substantive Officers &

Thames Valley Police (TVP) officers who have already passed the TVP Promotion, can apply as a substantive (above application requirements).

In addition to this information, officers applying on promotion should also submit a 'Why Me, Why Now' letter which outlines your motivation and suitability for the role at this time.
You will also be required to upload your latest PDR (or if no PDR, a recent CPD record//Focus Feedback meeting) and the Police Officer Promotion Reference Form.

Failure to provide these documents will mean that promotion applications cannot be progressed.~ Surrey & Sussex officers must be successful in a force promotion process at NPPF Step 3 if they are not currently substantive at the rank. These officers will be supported in doing the role on an acting basis until the next Surrey / Sussex promotion process takes place. However, please be aware that Surrey Police / Sussex Police will not recognise them as having been temporarily promoted to NPPF Step 4 until they have gone through (and are successful) in our own in-force NPPF Step 3 promotion process.
