We're looking for dedicated and knowledgeable Chartered Surveyors offering in depth Surveying knowledge and commercial flare to join the District Valuer Services (DVS) Team in Scotland.
Job description:
DVS is organised into 5 sectors: National Taxation, Local & Devolved Government, Transport, Health and Central Government.
We operate on a commercial basis, in competition with the private sector in all but our National Taxation business sector.
We provide a wide range of advice across all aspects of the public sector. There is a CAAV network, and we encourage and support those wishing to gain the CAAV accreditation.
You should be able to manage a complex workload within specialist teams and be prepared to work closely with colleagues across the region to deliver for our clients.
Our Chartered Surveyors have the freedom to manage their own diaries and are empowered to deliver under their own autonomy.
Person specification:
- The ability to provide good quality valuation and property advice that meets all current best practice and RICS standards.
- A good understanding of the commercial and economic environment.
- Strong analytical and judgement skills and the ability to interpret a range of evidence to reach sound conclusions and make effective decisions.
- Great communication skills and be able to deal with a wide range of customers and stakeholders.
- The ability to work as part of a team and to motivate and inspire others to deliver results. You will support and develop our pipeline of trainee surveyors and oversee them through their APC and coaching peers.
- The ability to deliver work against milestones and act promptly to reassess workloads and priorities when there are conflicting demands.
Skills, experience and qualifications essential for this role
- Full driving licence.
- Willingness to travel, some overnight stays may be required.
- Willingness to be flexible on work areas and undertaking work outside of their region.
- You must be eligible to become an RICS Registered Valuer either by having undertaken the valuation competency to level 3 during your RICS assessment or be willing to undertake the bespoke assessment for the purposes of valuer registration.
