    Job summary

    An exciting opportunity has arisen to be anintegral part of the Orthoptic department.You will be working within a team of 6 Orthoptists, 1 Optician and 5Ophthalmic Technicians.

    The job role is 20 hours a week based withinBarnsley hospital Ophthalmology department providing administrative support.

    The interview date for this role will be week commencing 1st July.

    Main duties of the job

    As part of the role you will work closely with the visionscreeners. You would be responsible for booking schools and compiling classlists for the vision screeners.

    You would need to be confident in making and receivingphone calls, dealing with members of the public and education services. Thepost holder would be required to type GP letters, scan patient information ontoCareflow and handle patient notes.

    The post holder must be competent at using Microsoft officesystems such as excel and word.

    Previous work within a hospital setting is desirable butnot essential as full training will be provided.

    The work pattern can be flexible to meet the needs of theservice and the post holder.
