Role Purpose:
Reporting to the Programme Manager the Lecturer is part of the training and delivery team and is responsible for the presentation, updating and development of courses at the College that are, suitable for meeting the training needs of the industry.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
- Leading on embedding Ofsted's education inspection framework into the vocational training delivery to ensure that course objectives are achieved and meet ESFA requirements, both practical and theoretical in line with Grade 1 outstanding teaching and learning.
- Ensure that course delivery material, equipment, training aids, Schedule It and documentation is continually reviewed and updated to ensure delivery requirements are meeting current guidelines.
- Produce management information and reports for their area such as progress data for Essential Skills and learners with additional learning Needs or Additional Learning Support requirements.
- Collaborate with the Senior Instructor to help develop Instructional staff (and other relevant colleagues) and apprentice Instructors /Teaching Assistants.
- Act as a lead for maintaining and developing NCC's eLearning portfolio enabling all trainees' course reports, assessment forms, and other relevant documentation is accurately captured, as required by awarding bodies and NCC quality procedures via One File.
- Play an integral role in Supporting the Colleges continuous quality improvement plan, for the teaching and learning process and in line with Ofsted requirements. Ensuring that a standardised approach is adopted throughout the Colleges.
- Support the Curriculum area in ensuring that numeracy and literacy is fully embedded into apprenticeship programs and the delivery of literacy and numeracy programmes to learners and provision of continuing support to achievement.
- Ensure all relevant accreditation visits are maintained and lead awarding body audits and reaccreditation visits to ensure the College retains its accreditation and direct award status.
- Deliver teaching, assessment and IQA qualifications to colleagues as appropriate.

Knowledge and Experience:
Essential:
- Hold a relevant teaching qualification at level 5/HND specialising in the teaching of literacy and numeracy and / or ESOL
- Hold a mentoring and or coaching qualification or be willing to work toward it.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills Level 2 Numeracy and Literacy.
- Proven ability to motivate, enthuse and develop positive attitudes in learners and support them to overcome barriers to learning and progression.
- Motivated, well organised, and efficient.
- Assessor qualifications (or willing to work toward that).
Desirable:
- Hold a relevant management or supervisory qualification.
- Deliver training across multiple Curriculum areas.
- Advanced qualifications and experience to be able to deliver teacher training quals.
- Evidence of attendance of Safeguarding Training.
Special Conditions/Other Requirements:
- Full UK driving licence
- Must be prepared to travel and work at other locations with occasional overnight stays.
- Must have DBS / Disclosure Scotland

Required Qualification
- Hold a relevant teaching qualification at level 5/HND specialising in the teaching of literacy and numeracy and / or ESOL
- Previous teaching experience
