What is the purpose of the role?

This is an exciting opportunity for you to be part of an ambitious, diverse and dynamic team that is looking to challenge the convention of how corporate clients consider their currency risk management as part of a fresh Corporate Banking offering to mid-sized UK companies.
FX Dealers are responsible for converting, embedding and retaining clients for Corporate Bank through delivering exceptional service for their transactional FX and currency risk management and collaborating with other teams at Investec to support the growth of our clients.

The purpose of the role is to build a portfolio of corporate clients (within a defined target market) using Investec to manage their FX risks and transactional exp introduce other services offered by Investec Bank plc.
This is achieved by high levels of activity making pro-active phone calls to update on market trends, taking the initiative to support the client improve their understanding of their FX risk, payment process and accounts set up and constantly develop our understanding of their business and build long term relationships. This will all be monitored against a specific individual revenue target.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for an individual with proven FX dealing experience and a focus on FX payments for corporate clients. A background in sales and diverse experience across different financial products is also person requires a proactive and energetic personality with the enthusiasm to make a difference and excel.

What are the main duties?
In this role you will be responsible for embedding and retaining client relationships through delivering a world class FX relationship experience:

• Hunger and persistence to convert new clients into trading clients.

• Empathy and diligence to embed these relationships.

• Proactivity, passion and skill to develop these client relationships within the team and across the wider bank.
We are also looking for someone with sales acumen, who is hard-working, pro-active, shows initiative and challenges the status quo. The ideal candidate will have a desire and persistence to re-ignite clients that have not traded with Investec for a long time and those who have completely stopped trading with us. They will focus on bringing our new Transactional FX offering and value proposition to clients these clients to build long term relationships.
Strong numerical and analytic skills are also favoured to support working with clients to provide the most effective solutions.

Developing client relationships:

• Proactivity is essential and constant phone dialogue is expected.

• A strong understanding of our contact and their business is required to ensure service is always a value add.

• Developing deeper relationships with clients to introduce them to our wider bank offering.
Pursue full wallet share:

• Liaise with Origination and Sales for integration into your portfolio and approach to new clients.

• Investigate and search for opportunities to re-introduce Investec to Clients that have stopped trading with us

• Liaise with Payment Sales for integration into your portfolio and approach to new clients.

• Investigate and search for payment opportunities in your existing book.

• Promote iX platform for ease of use and self-serve payment and beneficiary management.
Portfolio client wallet share will be tracked and expected to grow year on year.

Demonstrate a genuine team player mentality:

• Assist other team members with their portfolio and client calls whenever required, with particular emphasis on growing our Transactional FX revenues.

• Covering your teammates and being conscientious of client coverage to ensure our service levels remain high.

• Build strong internal relationships with Treasury Sales, Client Services, Compliance, Settlements and Payment Sales.
