Job Description:


Our client are an IT Cloud, Print, and Telecoms sales business located in East Hertfordshire, UK, and are seeking an Assistant Management Accountant to join the team.

This is a great opportunity for an AAT student with part-qualification who is motivatedto learn and support all aspects of the Management Accountant's role over the coming months.


As an Assistant Management Accountant, you will be responsible for coordinating all inputs from HR in order to process payroll, running payroll internally from April 2023 and ensuring any resulting queries from staff are addressed.

You will also be responsiblefor ensuring bank receipts and payments are up-to-date and the bank balances in Microsoft Dynamics are reconciled to each bank account daily.


You will maintain accruals and prepayments schedules for the company and process the accrual and prepayment adjustment journals each month-end, maintain and record the petty cash transactions in Microsoft Dynamics, and maintain the Fixed Asset register andensure it is a true reflection of the assets of the company by timely processing of additions and disposals.


You will ensure agreement/reconciliation of detailed AP and AR ledgers to the respective control accounts, process the monthly payment of authorized staff expenses, process the monthly credit card statements items and seek appropriate manager approvals,and process the depreciation journals each month.


In addition to the above responsibilities, you will make suggestions for process improvements (when observed) to the MA and HoF, assist in the year-end audit in relation to the above areas of responsibilities, and assist with other ad hoc exercises for theManagement Accountant and the HoF.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software
  • Willingness to learn and take on new challenges
