Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) has an exciting opportunity available for an
HR Relations Officer to join our team in
Maidstone and county wide across kent. You will join us on a
full-time, permanent basis, and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of
£38,598 - £44,083 per annum.

About the role:


As an
HR Relations Officer, you will be a confident provider of advice and guidance to managers and colleagues regarding HR policies, procedures, employment law, disciplinaries, and grievance processes.


As our HR Relations Officer, you will be responsible for:

  • Acting as first point of contact for all managers to advise on employee relations cases. Supporting managers with expert and practical advice on how to manage employee relations cases
  • Supporting and coaching managers, including support at hearings and investigations
  • Supporting HR Relations Manager by looking for new ways of delivering employee relations support
  • Actively promoting employee engagement and health and wellbeing agendas
  • Supporting managers to identify and implement reasonable or wellbeing adjustments in the workplace
  • Splitting your time between the office and sites across the KFRS estate

What we're looking for in our
HR Relations Officer:

  • Excellent critical thinking skills
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Strong organisational skills, able to manage a wide range of tasks daily and prioritise tasks based on their urgency
  • Experience of assessing issues and determining the best course of action to resolve disputes and maintain a positive working environment
  • Able to analyse data, identify trends and make decisions based on evidence presented
  • The ability to be flexible, and unphased by rapidly changing situations
  • Excellent people skills and attention to detail
  • CIPD qualified or equivalent level of experience
