    Job summary

    To ensure the Neurodevelopmental service operates in a clinically safe, effective & efficient way as part of the whole system of emotional health and well-being services within the THRIVE framework by leading on operational and strategic development of the service. This role will also hold clinical leadership responsibility for the service alongside ASC and ADHD Senior Leads, including ensuring relevant clinical supervision is provided to staff, standards of service provision are set, monitored, and maintained and that people, who use the service, and their carers, are involved in the service in the way they wish to be. This role will foster a culture that encourages and enables individuals to have an active role in identifying, planning, and meeting their individual needs, ensuring that the experience of the CYP using the service is at the centre of any decision making.

    All post holders working will be expected to uphold the Trust's vision and values.

    To ensure that the experience of the CYP using the service is at the centre of any decision-making whilst building an outstanding supportive and responsive relationship with colleagues within the alliance and externally across the Surrey system and leading on clinically challenging and complex cases as appropriate.

    Main duties of the job

    Suitable for someone who is interested in and passionate about providing high quality leadership and services for people with Neurodevelopmental needs and who enjoys managing staff well-being and supporting people to achieve their potential. This role requires a high level of skill in clinical assessment, crisis management, risk management, safeguarding, and liaison with other agencies, professional and voluntary. The role requires the ability to operate with a high degree of professional autonomy but work collaboratively with other members of the team and wider network to formulate and treat children, adolescents, and their families.

  • oProfessional qualification at Diploma/Degree level RMN, or equivalent in social work, occupational therapy, psychotherapy, clinical psychology, or other such clinical professions and hold a professional membership (eg NMC, HCPC.)
  • oHave a minimum of 3 years relevant management/leadership experience in a children's and adolescent mental health service
  • oHave a minimum of 5 years' experience working with children and adolescents with mental health needs

  • oLeadership/Management qualification or relevant training
