Summary

Responsibilities

Processing Invoices:

  • Receive, verify, and process supplier invoices promptly and accurately.
  • Match invoices to purchase orders and resolve any discrepancies.

Setting up New Supplier Accounts:

  • Gather necessary documentation and information to set up new supplier accounts in compliance with company policies.

Assist with Payment Runs:

  • Collaborate with the finance team to prepare and execute payment runs within established timelines.
  • Ensure all payments are accurate and properly authorized.

Supplier Statement Reconciliations:

  • Conduct regular reconciliations of supplier statements to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies.

Dealing with Supplier Queries:

  • Act as a point of contact for supplier inquiries and address any issues or concerns professionally and promptly.

General Ledger:

  • Maintain and update the general ledger with accurate financial data.
  • Assist with data entry and journal entries as required.

Involvement in Business and Revenue:

  • Work closely with the finance team to analyse and report on business and revenuerelated financial data.
  • Collaborate on financial forecasting and budgeting processes.

Financial Statements:

  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

VAT Returns:

  • Prepare and file VAT returns in compliance with applicable regulations and deadlines.

Month-End Close:

  • Participate in the monthend closing process, ensuring all financial activities are properly recorded and accounted for.

Key Skills

  • Bookkeeping experience
  • Knowledge of accounting system is desirable.
  • Selfmotivated and resilient with excellent organisational skills
  • Hardworking, flexible and reliable with good attention to detail
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel is essential
  • Strong mathematical skills

  • Colchester: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:
