Housing Administrator - Based at Head office WC1N 3QU.

Salary £34,800 per annum, pro rata


Teachers Housing Association is a small specialist organisation providing sheltered housing in several areas of the UK, and affordable general needs accommodation in London for teachers and those working in education.

We are currently seeking an Administrator to join a small friendly team based in Central London,


They will provide a high level of service delivery as first response to all enquiries and be able to manage their own workload while offering support to housing Team and other teams when necessary.

JOB PURPOSE:

To provide a comprehensive administrative and support service to achieve high quality customer and housing management services to residents.


GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

A. ALLOCATIONS

  • To maintain accurate waiting lists and other records and material relating to the allocation of tenancies.
  • To attend and service weekly allocations meetings.
  • To liaise with local authority housing departments, Choice Based Lettings teams, Education Authorities and other agencies to facilitate the letting of THA's properties.
  • To carry out home visits and void viewings as required.

B. LETTINGS

  • To prepare and despatch tenancy documentation as required and ensure understanding of the legislative requirements relating to different tenancy types, including Assured Shortholds.
  • To maintain and update the Access Database of tenants on a timely basis.
  • To provide information regarding voids and lettings to insurers, utilities and other parties as required.

C. PUBLICITY AND MARKETING

  • To ensure appropriate publicity material is available to promote the Association and its properties.
  • To update the Association's website as required to promote and facilitate the letting of the Association's properties and complete Bulletins in respect of housing services.
  • To assist in preparation of newsletters and other material to deliver communications and engagement in line with the consumer standards, and as directed by the operations director.

D. ADMINISTRATION AND SECRETARIAL

  • To provide statistical information and reports relating to allocations and lettings for both internal and external purposes, including CORE and statistical returns for NROSH and local authority departments.
  • To maintain monitoring records for completion of Support Plans and provide updates to the Housing Management Team.
  • To provide support, as requested, in the Associations's complaint handling service.
  • To maintain TV licence records and update and renew licences as required.
  • To prepare Service Charge Accounts and maintain the housing management section's Service Charge Account files and Consultation records.
  • To ensure that appropriate filing systems (manual and computer) are established and maintained on a timely basis within the housing management section.
  • To prepare correspondence as directed by Housing Management staff.
  • To provide general telephone response and office administrative support, and cover for the Administration and Maintenance Departments as required.
  • Deal with basic customer queries, providing the highest level of customer service.

E. GENERAL

  • To assist the Housing Management Department in any support services needed to deliver a compliant and high performing housing service.
  • To ensure confidentiality of all information dealt with and operate in accordance with THA's Confidentiality and Data Protection Policies.
  • To uphold and promote all aspects of THA's Equality and Diversity Strategy.
  • To adhere to THA's Health & Safety Policy and procedures.
  • To attend training courses, conferences, seminars and working parties in agreement with the Housing Services Director and Chief Executive.
  • To attend the Association's Committees if required.
  • To travel to the Association's properties as required.
  • To carry out any other duties consistent with the job purpose which may be required from time to time.

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent


Pay:
£30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year


Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • LONDON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

Housing Management Administrator: 2 years (preferred)
