Description

Our client is an ambitious group multiband Retail business based in Central London, currently with over 80 stores UK wide and a strong E commerce division they are headed up by a visionary CEO who plans further growth and as such is an exciting time to jointheir business.


Due to this growth, they are looking to recruit a driven HR Manager who is looking to join a growth business and ideally has worked in a growth retail business in the past.

A full-time role, with Hybrid/flexi working and paying up to £80,000


Role Specific

  • Responsible for Recruitment and selection across store and head office roles (up to middle management level)
  • Working with the HR Manager based in Scotland in ensuring that all policies and procedures are legally compliant and up to date, keeping up to speed with all legislative changes and bringing forth recommendations to the business
  • Talent Mapping working with Area Managers to identify high potential employees and developing a succession plan for future talent within each area
  • Working with HR Manager based in Kilmarnock to ensure that all documents, processes, practises, and correspondence issued by the HR department is legally compliant within the operating area/country, accurate and consistent.
  • Develop training content and work with key stake holders in creating and delivering modules that meet current business needs
  • Develop and improve elearning content
  • Provide HR generalist support to Store Operations
  • Provide coaching to Managers
  • Ensure that all activities and advice provided is aligned with the company's business philosophy and values
  • Performance management (all levels), including adhoc situations along with ensuring that the performance development system is implemented and that standards are consistent across the company.
  • Monitoring and managing employee turnover data for retail, analysing data to provide sound recommendations to the business based on trends
  • Line Managing and developing direct reports to ensure that performance standards are managed and met and career development is mapped out
  • Provide feedback to Head of HR Manager on retail activity and working together in harmonising processes across the business to improve productivity and engagement
  • Regularly visit stores, particularly focus stores requiring support
  • Provide advice and guidance to Retail Management in dealing with all people matters including: Disciplinary, Grievance, Redundancy, Performance, Attendance, Training
  • Working with the business to effectively manage change through strong project and communication plans and understanding the people impacts
  • Attendance management, including shortterm illness, longterm illness and unauthorised absence, providing advice on process, policy and best practise to management ensuring that each case is managed in line with business philosophy
  • Ensuring end to end management of ER cases to mitigate risks of litigation, ensuring that all relevant processes are adhered to, documentation is accurate, and advice provided is in line with policy and best practise
  • Supporting Head of HR Manager with note taking, investigations etc at Head Office
  • Running reports from WFM for retail and actioning updates where required
  • Supporting the payroll department in ensuring that legislative matters are adhered to at store level
  • Supporting with the successful implementation, coordination, and monitoring of the apprenticeship scheme for retail employees
  • Identify, develop and implement people initiatives to improve employee productivity, well being and engagement

Additional role specific that you may be responsible for

  • Adhoc projects to develop the HR function further to become an integral part of all areas of the business
  • Any other duties that maybe required

Requirements:


  • 2+ years' experience
    at a similar level within a fast paced multi site retail environment
  • English and Math's GCSE
  • CIPD or relevant tertiary education
  • Strong HR generalist experience necessary, particularly in Employee Relations.
  • Experience in writing and delivering training to a wide audience to address the needs of the business
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of employment law and ability to provide practical interpretations of legal compliance in order to mitigate risk.
  • Experience in writing and/or contributing to the creation or amendment of policies, contract of employment, procedures manuals and employee handbooks.
  • HR Systems experience in managing system and also in the creation and preparation of reports on behalf of the HR department.
