    Cover Supervisor Position at GSL Education



    Location: York, North Yorkshire

    Salary: £23,114 - £23,893 per annum

    Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent


    GSL Education's North Yorkshire branch is looking for a dedicated Cover Supervisor in York, North Yorkshire, starting in September 2024. As a Cover Supervisor, you will step in for absent teachers, conduct pre-planned lessons, and handle student behavior.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Supervise classes in various subjects when teachers are absent.
    • Ensure students are engaged in assigned tasks.
    • Maintain order to create a conducive learning atmosphere.
    • Collaborate with colleagues on lesson plans and gather necessary resources.
    • Provide feedback on student progress to the teacher.

    Requirements:

    • Hold an NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or higher, or be a Graduate pursuing a career in education.
    • Familiar with safeguarding and child protection policies.
    • Willingness to undergo further training for professional development.
    • Good communication skills and empathy towards young individuals.
    • Capable of flexible work and quick decision-making.
    • Hold an Enhanced DBS or willing to apply for one (DBS sponsorship available).
