    Description

    A well-established civil engineering and rail contractor in the UK is seeking to hire Quantity Surveyors for their JV High Speed 2 (HS2) construction project in London.

    This exciting opportunity as a Quantity Surveyor involves overseeing all commercial aspects in line with the contract for major civil engineering and tunnelling projects.

    The main responsibilities of this position include providing accurate and valuable input to projects, ensuring compliance with contracts, company policies, and meeting customer expectations.

    The Quantity Surveyor may work independently or under the guidance of a Senior Quantity Surveyor.

    • Preparing and evaluating applications, valuations, and reconciling costs and values.
    • Assisting in Risk and Value Management to optimize solutions.
    • Managing contracts and relevant software applications.
    • Ensuring compliance with contracts and company policies in managing notifications and documents.
    • Liaising with site teams, subcontractors, and Customers' representatives.

    Requirements for this role include:

    • Minimum of 3 years' Quantity Surveyor experience in civil engineering projects.
    • Prior experience in civils, rail, or tunnelling.
    • Experience with NEC3 contracts.
    • Strong problem-solving skills.
    • Experience in office management systems, filing, and document control.
    • Ability to contribute to procurement and contract strategies.
    • Demonstrated legal, contractual, and construction knowledge.
    • RICS/CICES accredited degree or enrollment in a post-graduate program.
    • Chartered status with RICS or CICES is desirable.

    The successful candidate will join a leading contractor on the prestigious HS2 project, valued at approximately £2 billion and scheduled for completion around 2025.
