    Description

    Tresham College, are currently recruiting for Course Manager - Hairdressing and Barbering at our Kettering/Corby Campus


    Course Managers at Tresham, play a pivotal role in the success of our students through: Course Promotion and Student Recruitment:

    • Manage student applications and interviews in collaboration with the Head of Department and course team members.
    • Oversee the production of course materials (leaflets, handbooks, etc.) and understand funding income and associated costs.

    Effective Liaison and Line Management:

    • Communicate effectively with teachers, course team members, and various staff.
    • Line manage Associate Lecturers and ensure compliance with College procedures .

    Course Design and Organization:

    • Disseminate information and meet awarding organization requirements.
    • Coordinate student enrolment and timetables.
    • Manage quality assurance processes and prepare course reviews.

    Student Progress Management:

    • Monitor progress, set targets, and support at-risk students.
    • Propose improvements in student outcomes.
    • Enforce policies on attendance and disciplinary procedures.

    Data Management:

    • Handle registration, certification, and accurate data processes.
    • Monitor course data and communicate changes to relevant teams .

    Ideal candidates will have experience/knowledge of:

    • Teaching and learning in FE
    • Consistently providing a high-quality learning experience for all students
    • Consistently providing a high performance in previous roles/jobs
    • Working effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
    • Working constructively to achieve team objectives and deadlines
    • Raising student retention and achievement rates
    • Curriculum models

    Qualifications:

    • Relevant Level 3 qualifications in Hairdressing and Barbering
    • Literacy and Numeracy Level 2 or equivalent
    • Safeguarding training
    • Equality and Diversity training
    • PGCE/CertEd or equivalent
    • Assessor qualification
    • Internal Quality Assurance qualification

    About The Bedford College Group

    The Bedford College Group was formed in 2017 following the merger of Bedford College and Tresham College and is now the largest provider of education in the South East Midlands, with over 15,000 students passing through our doors each year.

    Today, the Group is made up of a family of colleges across Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire: Bedford College, Central Bedfordshire College and Tresham College in the towns of Bedford, Dunstable, Leighton Buzzard, Corby, Kettering and Wellingborough; Shuttleworth College, a specialist land-based college; The Bedford Sixth Form, (the only dedicated sixth form in Bedford); The Corby Sixth Form, (opened in September 2023); and the National College for Motorsport alongside Silverstone race circuit. To widen accessibility to education and training, the Group also has community-based Learning Centres in Bedford, Corby and Kettering which offer IT training.
