    The role

    Our Business Services team deliver a wide range of accounting and advisory services to owner managed businesses across the Central Belt of Scotland and beyond.

    Working alongside the managers and other team members you will be a newly or nearly qualified accountant (CA, ACCA, ACA) looking to develop your career in a fast-paced environment. You should have ambitions to progress to Assistant Manager in the near future.

    On the job training will be provided. Support will also be offered to complete relevant qualifications if desired.

    There are opportunities for further career progression if you have a desire to grow and develop in the role.

    Key duties

    Your main duties will comprise carrying out the following tasks and supervising team members with these tasks:

    • Preparation of accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
    • Preparation of corporation tax and business tax computations.
    • Ad-hoc bookkeeping duties using accounting software as applicable.
    • Preparation of management accounts for clients and reporting in their required format.
    • Client VAT Return preparation and review.
    • Take responsibility for your work and be able to multi task in an organised manner.
    • Meeting clients face-to-face and developing good rapport while acting in a professional manner.
    • Ensure you understand the services we can offer and identify areas that a client could benefit from.
    • Helping others within the team and mentoring junior members of staff including review of their work.



    Skills and qualifications

    • You should be CA/ACCA/ACA qualified or nearly qualified with relevant Practice experience;
    • Proven knowledge of preparing statutory accounts under FRS102 and FRS105
    • Working knowledge of Sage and Xero and Microsoft Office packages
    • Working knowledge of CCH desirable
