Principal Structural Engineer

Our Opportunity

Are you a skillful and committed Senior Structural Engineer, looking to take on a new challenge in a Principal position?
Alternatively, are you currently working in a Principal Structural Engineering role, looking to expand your skillset within a prestigious, thriving, multi-disciplinary construction consultancy?

Do you want to work on a diverse range of projects, as part of a collaborative, dynamic and supportive team?

As a Principal Structural Engineer you will be responsible for the design and management of a diverse range of projects across sectors to including health, education, commercial, custodial and residential. Take a look at some of our projects here: Discover our projects - Pick Everard

You will take on and lead responsibility for delivery of projects, ensuring they are delivered to the highest quality, on time, and to budget.

You will also have opportunities to achieve (if not already) chartered status, with mentors for both IStructE and ICE and access to regular workshops and seminars tailored to signing off the core objectives as part of the chartership process.

About You

As a Principal Structural Engineer you will be passionate about designing sustainable buildings, working within a forward thinking multi-disciplinary practice and be enthused by working across varying sectors within the built environment.

Our ideal Principal Structural Engineer must have:

Chartered Engineer with either the IStructE (preferred) or ICE .
Good verbal communication – able to discuss work, and communicate effectively to work collaboratively as part of a team
An excellence in technical problem solving, risk management and mitigation.
Experience relevant to UK practice and knowledge of UK design standards, codes of practice and methods of construction
Familiarity with structural engineering modelling, analysis, and design software.

It would be nice for you to have:

The ability to work to deadlines and manage time with multiple tasks
The motivation to undertake relevant CPD and to increase skills and knowledge
Experience in day-to-day control of programming, planning and costs
Experience in clash detection and co-ordination of multi-disciplinary projects
Ability to develop effective team management skill
Business development and proposal writing experience
