    Description

    Are you an experienced midwife keen to influence the future delivery of safe, compassionate and effective maternity care? We are seeking Maternity Matrons to come and join our compassionate leadership team at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust and manage the complex care and specialist midwifery portfolios.


    We are a dedicated team, with an inspiring vision, investing in the development of our future leadership team to support the ongoing development of our maternity service.


    In this role, you will be a visible and credible clinical leader, promoting compassionate leadership within your areas of responsibility whilst engaging your teams to improve standards of care.


    You will be an advocate for women within your care and will be committed to your teams and keen to promote excellence within your clinical areas of responsibility working with families within your care.


    You will be supported in your role by the Director of Midwifery and wider leadership team to achieve your ambitions and excel as a leader.

    We ensure our patients receive the highest quality of Care and are guided by our trust Values. We are proud that our Trust has been rated as Good by the Quality Care Commission (CQC). This is in recognition of the patient experience and quality of care that our staff provide to patients. It is also supported by our Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professional Framework for Professional Practice.

    Be assured through robust monitoring processes that all women and families cared for within the service have their individual care needs assessed, planned, delivered and evaluated by appropriate members of the team.

    Ensure that all women are involved in decisions about their care and have agreed their plans of care.

    To be able to travel around the area of work
    Able to participate on a local divisional on-call for maternity escalation

    Degree in Midwifery or health related subject
    Registered with Nursing & Midwifery Council

    Significant recent operational experience as a Band 7 or above
    Up-to-date knowledge of national midwifery policy and strategy
    Experience of policy development and implementation
    Able to demonstrate a personal contribution to the continuing professional development of staff.
    Knowledge of Clinical Governance and Safeguarding and the relevance of these to practice.
    Experience of managing and completing 'performance management' processes
    Able to demonstrate coherent report writing skills
